· The film starts with first seconds of , Bernstein’s musical notes softly start to play. A child, hums very child-like in the background. In the middle of the box, Gregory Peck is written. A pocket watch ticks quietly.
· The child lifts a crayon and unintentionally sets a marble rolling . this is a metaphor that the child is going to be a catalyst for change in the story. the marble is a code for her childhood innocence.
· The best element to Stephen Frankfurt’s opening title sequence for “To Kill A Mockingbird” is the window reflected in the marbles.
· A wave, as drawn by Scout, is cross matched with the beaded chain over the silent timepiece. The child draws what can be discerned as dividing lines which is a code for the racial divisons in the film . And in the tearing of the mockingbird, a chasm that repersents the divisions between blacks and white.
