Making a DVD cover

In this process it was a little more complicated becuase I had to add the elements that show that it is a DVD cover. This includes the certifacate , the production company and studio . Also the side of the DVD cover had to be made which added more challeges in transforming the image.

I used Photoshop to create this pratice film poster . I started with the original photo of London that I took myself then I used the ink filter in Photoshop to create the effect. Then I took the photo of the boy and edited it in after making it black and white while also using the pencil drawing effect. I learned how to use layers, filters and text.

My Media World

I own a Nokia BL-5CA which use as a social interaction device and keep time, alarm clock and calendar. It is simple and easy to use which is helpful as a general tool to facilitate my life in all areas. For example if I lost or stopped using my phone not only would my social life suffer but also my general organization.

I use platforms like Facebook to keep in touch with friends. I use the many different aspects of Facebook like picture, chat and statuses to find out what when and how I my friends and family are doing in their general lives.  For example my sister is at university and Facebook is the most cost effective way of staying in touch with her and what she is up to.

When a new film comes out I will often go to the local cinema or independent move house.  I often make the choice of these new movies and which ones I will be seeing because of the movie trailer that shows me the genre, pass and plot of the film. However I also often go to see films on word of mouth my friend or family member telling me that a film is good. If I have seen a film in the cinema and enjoyed it I will probably buy it on DVD or blue ray format. However  if I never seen the film before but have heard it is good I will watch it first on a movie website like TVlinks.com this way I can see films that I would not what to risk spending money on before I buy them.

Music and the sharing/hearing of music is an integral part of my social life and general identity. I get my music via music websites like iTunes and then download them on to my iPod classic 160GB model. My iPod has lots of memory to store music so I don’t have to chop and change which music I keep on my iPod.

I enjoy using my Xbox for variety of different uses including television, DVD, games and even online chat. The application Xbox live that helps me interact with other people over the internet.

On average I use the internet around 5 hours a day and up to 8 on weekends. I would not be completely concentrate on the internet at these times but would have them on in the background or too one side.
